Track and Field: Kacey Elphage Picks Up a Second Athlete of the Week HonorPublished by
Contact: Matt Hebert LAFAYETTE – Senior Kacey Elphage picked up her second Sun Belt Conference female track athlete of the week honor for the Ragin’ Cajuns track and field program earlier this week. Elphage continued to shine in the 100 meter hurdles as her time of 13.31 seconds at last weekend’s Texas State Bobcat Classic (April 27) easily bested her previous best of 13.46 seconds at last the LSU Alumni Gold (April 20). Elphage ran the 100 meter hurdles in less than 14 seconds for the fifth time this season and timed in under 13.50 seconds a second straight week. The Donaldsonville, La., native also earned the distinction from the Sun Belt Conference the week of March 18-24 after landing a previous personal-best and top collegian mark in the Louisiana Classics. Elphage and her Ragin’ Cajuns teammates are currently preparing for the Sun Belt Conference Championships which will be held Friday-Sunday, May 10-12 in Miramar, Fla.
